I think we need a boat...

This is a picture of the creek at the end of our street taken about half an hour ago. It is still rising and with this rain continuing I imagine it is going to get a lot higher before it starts to recede. Thankfully we are far enough up the street that I think we would need rains of biblical proportions before it affects us. We have probably 2m elevation from where the water is now.

This is the googlemaps view to show how far we are from the creek...Currently the whole area spanned by the blue line is under water. You can see the willows in the photo and in this pic...

Hard to believe but I am actually starting to wish the rain would ease up!!!

Hi EM, that's great news. I think you have a very handsome little trio! I forgot to answer your previous question, the main thing with duckies is always having water deep enough to get their eyes into. ANd your duckies grew up on dry mash/meatmeal and have been weaned onto normal darling downs free range layer mix. So they should be pretty adaptable with diet. They LOVE tomatoes and lettuce.

hope you have great fun with them. Once they settle down they should get quite tame.

Hello! Its exciting to read the blog of a Cooma Permaculturalist! I'm Jess, and I'm probably moving down to Cooma in a couple of years (my fiancee is from there). I'm studying architecture (and permaculture for fun) in Sydney at the moment. Look forward to reading more of your posts!

Hey Jess, thanks for commenting. You should move down NOW! Seriously, leaving Sydney for here was the best thing my fiance and I ever did.

And Mr BVVF, see my new post. Happy now? :P

For sure, We're looking for graduate jobs in Canberra at the moment. Everyone (except me) is worried the shock from Sydney directly to Cooma will be too much for my city-girl ways. So we're doing an intermediate step.

Just saw your new entry, those ducks are SO CUTE! I love ducks. Hehe.
